Tuition Assistance and Out-of-State Reduction Programs
There are opportunities for out-of-state tuition reduction programs for students seeking to attend college outside Missouri. Check to see if the schools you are applying to offer such programs. The list below contains a few examples.
University of Louisville (Kentucky)
Border Benefit
Accepted first-time freshmen and transfer students from Illinois, Indiana, Nashville Metro, Southwest Ohio, and St. Louis Metro will automatically receive this renewable award.
Kansas State University
The new Missouri Tuition Match Program allows qualified students to pay Kansas resident tuition, a $64,284 tuition reduction/projected award over four years. To review award requirements, visit this site for more information.
Washington University in St. Louis is now offering WASH U PLEDGE
A financial aid program that will provide free undergraduate education to incoming, full-time Missouri and southern Illinois students who are Pell Grant eligible or from families with annual incomes of $75,000 or less. The WashU Pledge covers the full cost of a Washington University education, including tuition, room, board, and fees. Click here for more information
Midwest Student Exchange Program
This is a tuition reduction program that makes attending out-of-state colleges more affordable for non-resident students. By enrolling in a MSEP program at a participating institution, you will receive a reduced tuition rate. Over 140 colleges in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wisconsin participate. Actual savings will vary from school to school. Participating students will typically realize savings between $500 and $3,000 annually. Search for participating schools and programs and learn more at http://msep.mhec.org
