Scholarships

Scholarships may be awarded based on your application and admission to a college or university.

  • MERIT scholarships are given for academic achievement: things like GPA, ACT, and so on.
  • NEED-BASED awards are granted once a FAFSA is submitted. The school then determines if it can offer financial assistance to alleviate some or all of the cost of attending.
  • Some institutions offer COMPETITIVE, usually higher dollar amount scholarships, or have other opportunities through a scholarship portal which may require separate applications.
  • OUTSIDE or PRIVATE scholarships are typically not associated with a specific college/university, instead come from a variety of agencies, organizations, etc. The SCHOLARSHIP LIST below includes many of these opportunities. It changes frequently, so check back often.

Using My Scholarship Central, students can apply to more than 150 scholarships in one place! The general application is matched to local scholarships and interest-free loan programs students may be eligible to apply to directly. Most are opportunities only available to Missouri students, and some living in Illinois.

There are also Scholarships in SchooLinks! Once logged in, click on Finances, then Scholarship Matching to see what is posted there.

NOTE: For transcripts to be emailed or uploaded directly to a scholarship organization, you must inform your College and Career Counselor directly.

For scholarships that require an official transcript to be mailed with the application, stop by the Office of the Registrar on the 2nd floor to make a request.

Remember to allow 10 school days for processing of all transcript requests.
